Tips For Tokyo Disney Resort

Having visited Tokyo Disney numerous times – 5x Disneyland and 4x Disney Sea, here are some tips for a fun-filled day at the theme parks.

1. Plan

Prioritise the rides and shows you want, and map out your route, including which fastpasses you want to take. The parks are huge especially Disney Sea. Knowing how to get to places in the most efficient way saves you lots of time and energy. Also check out the food items on sale and where to find them so you won’t miss out on all the yummy treats. And if you’re a popcorn fan, you’ll want to know what flavours are available and where to get them. All these information can be found at https://www.tokyodisneyresort.jp/en/tdl/

2. Start Early

Go at least half hour before the park open to get the popular fastpasses. If you have not gotten your entry tickets, you definitely need to go early. For advance tickets, you can purchase online from Klook or Kkday, at Lawsons stores or at Disney stores.

3. Bring Cash

Food stands only accept cash so make sure you have sufficient.

4. Dress Warmly

If you visit the parks during autumn and winter, bring along a thick jacket. It can get really cold towards night time especially at Disney Sea.

5. Be Early for Parades and Shows

Check the timings and try to be at the venue at least 45 mins before start time. This will ensure you get a good viewing spot. Grab some food along the way and enjoy it while waiting. But if you prefer rides, then parade and show times are your best chance at  short queues.

6. Shop Early

If you have in mind certain park souvenirs, get them early especially if they are seasonal or limited edition items as they do get sold out. The shops also tend to get very crowded towards closing time, which makes the shopping experience rather unpleasant.

7. Leave Before Closing Time

For those not staying within and around the resort, leave about half an hour before closing time to avoid overcrowding at the JR Maihama Station.

8. Avoid Weekends and Holidays

Tokyo Disney Resort is super popular with locals so it’s wise to visit during weekdays, and the best days are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
